1. Acceptance
By downloading, opening, or using The Convince you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Information Notice, and the Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be old enough to enter a contract in your country and, in any case, not under 13.
2. The service
The Convince is a communication assistant. During a session you start, it uses the camera and microphone to give practice feedback on stress, face, and voice cues.
The app is for interview practice, presentation rehearsal, and personal awareness. It is not a medical device, not a certified polygraph, and not a source of legal evidence. Read the Disclaimer.
Analysis may run on a processing host that is separate from this website. We may change, suspend, or withdraw features without notice where we have a good operational reason.
3. Licence
OWLBIT LTD grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use The Convince on devices you own or control. You do not buy the software. We and our licensors keep all rights not granted here.
4. Your duties
- Use the app only on people who know they are in the session, unless a law in your country clearly allows otherwise.
- Grant camera and microphone access only if you want those features. You can turn them off in your device settings.
- Do not rely on a session score for hiring, firing, discipline, immigration, credit, or any legal or medical decision.
- Keep your device and any exported reports under your control.
- Comply with recording, employment, and privacy laws where you use the app.
5. What you must not do
- Present The Convince as a lie detector, medical diagnostic, or forensic tool.
- Use session results as the sole ground for a decision that harms someone.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or attack the app or its processing host.
- Remove notices, copy the product to a competing service, or use our marks without permission.
- Upload or speak unlawful, harassing, or infringing content in a session.
6. Outputs and AI
Feedback is probabilistic and can be wrong. Lighting, movement, language, and device quality affect results. Text from a session may be sent to a generative AI provider so the assistant can comment on consistency. You remain responsible for how you interpret and use any output.
7. Stores and other platforms
If you obtained The Convince through a third-party store or platform, that store’s own rules also apply to billing, refunds, and installation. Where those rules and these Terms conflict on a subject the store must control, the store’s rules win for that subject.
8. Intellectual property
The name The Convince, the heart mark, the interface, and the software are owned by OWLBIT LTD or its licensors. Session reports you export are yours to keep; our methods and models stay ours.
9. Liability
The app is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you or anyone else make after seeing a session result. Our total liability for a claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim (or, if you paid nothing, fifty US dollars), unless a mandatory consumer law says we cannot limit that.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where that exclusion is not allowed.
10. Ending use
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms or if we retire the product. Sections that should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimer, and liability) remain in force.
11. Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where a mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence applies instead. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, again unless that mandatory law gives you the right to sue in your home courts.
If a court finds a clause unenforceable, the rest of these Terms still apply. We may update these Terms; the date at the top will change. If you keep using the app after a material change, you accept the new Terms.
